3 out of 5 PET install difficult

    (verified owner)

The PET sheets come stuck to clear sheets that are very difficult to remove. When I removed it, it caused a lot of problems with the PET sheet, primarily that it curls up and ends up creating folds in the sheet when you try to apply it. It ends up curved up at the edges of the glass and won’t stick. Would be much easier if they just rolled it up and threw it in the box

i installed the glass build plate and got it leveled and put the special plastic cover on it that it came with (which is horrible it bubbles up and did not come pre installed like the installation video said it would) now its all set up and leveled ready to print. and i have not been able to get anything to stick to it my last 7 prints have all failed. Im really hoping i can fix it and make it work but im having too much trouble for this thing.

Printing on glass is a great method for 3D printing but you need to prep your glass for the material you are printing. Printing on glass without proper bed treatment will cause issues for sure. Check out this youtube video for info on how to print with PLA. It’s very easy. We also have a video on printing ABS.

Try putting blue tape on your glass. That’s working for me provided my glass plate doesn’t shift.

What do I do when the abs brackets melt from being in contact with the build plate?

5 out of 5 Amazing upgrade!

    (verified owner)

My prints come out amazingly well now. Even with PLA, no need to change out the tape or put glue on it. Just set the bed for 60C and it works like you used glue.

5 out of 5 Well worth it.

The product is a really good upgrade for the Flashforge Creator Pro. It installs easily, and works very well with a bit of hairspray. The product was shipped very promptly, and arrived in perfect condition. The Youtube bit on installation was helpful, and the spacer shipped with the glass was perfect for Z axis alignment. I highly recommend the product and the co. that sells it.

Yes, it works for the Microcenter (Powerspec) Clone, it’s all in the size of the build plate, they use the same corner screws

    Question

    (verified owner)

Just got my glass bed kit today. In the youtube video it says the PET tape is preinstalled on the glass so you can use it right out of the box. Mine wasn’t, is it supposed to be?

Yes, I agree and was under the impression that the PET film would already be installed. I have now wrecked the two films included with the glass. I was very disappointed with trying, until the point of total frustration, to apply the film myself. Please advise how you apply the film without bubbles, creases, folds and other associated issues with the film and glass application.

Do I have to remove the blue film from the original Flashforge Creator Pro plate prior to installing the glass bed?

You can remove it or leave it. Either way. We removed ours and its easier to do when the bed is heated up to soften the glue holding it on
